Who can apply?

You have a Bachelor’s Degree or are in the process of getting one. Great! You can apply for GAMSAT.

When can I sit for GAMSAT?

If you are two years away from completing your degree course and considering a medical career, you can attempt the GAMSAT as scores remain valid for two years. Within these two years, you can use your GAMSAT score to apply to any University listed under ACER.

An ideal time to start considering the GAMSAT would be at the end of 1st year (of a 3 year degree course) or at the end of 2nd year (of a 4 year degree course).

I am from a non-science stream. Can I apply?

Yes you can. ACER does not make it mandatory to major in any one specific subject nor does it give special preference to students from a particular stream.

However, it is not possible to succeed in GAMSAT without a thorough knowledge of scientific concepts as a major section of the GAMSAT test paper deals with science.

Can I calculate my GPA online?

No. You cannot calculate your Grade Point Average (GPA) using the online calculator on the ACER website. You have to submit your official academic transcripts along with the application form. If these are not in English, attach a certified English translation of the same.

How long can I use my GAMSAT score?

Your GAMSAT score has a validity of 2 years. Within that period you can use them to apply to any of the institutions listed under ACER.

How do I register?

Registration is online only. You will need a computer with internet access, a credit card and an email id (except Hotmail or Yahoo). Your email id is your link with the GAMSAT office. You have to provide detailed info regarding the grading system used in your university. This helps the ACER committee to evaluate your performance in the degree course.
