The registration for UMAT 2010 is open till June 4, 2010. Along with the late fees, the last date for registration is June 18, 2010. For the students who wish to write UMAT 2010 its time to hurry up. There is a minute change in the question pattern. The questions are divided in three sections. UMAT Section 1 remains unchanged with 44 questions to be solved in 65 minutes. UMAT Section 2 will have 40 questions instead of 36. The time given for attempting this section is 50 minutes. UMAT Section 3 will have 38 questions to be answered in 50 minutes.

Preparing for UMAT test needs a lot of practice. A focussed and critical approach is needed in order to excel. It is an added advantage to have an observant mind. However, an intelligent and a responsive mind can also be developed through regular practice.

UMAT Section 1, ‘Logical Reasoning And Problem Solving’: This section requires an extensive reading of scientific journals and articles. If you acquaint yourself with a variety of topics you will be able to understand its under lying implications. Developing this skill is of utmost importance for qualifying this section as you will be more comfortable in reading such kinds of passages.

UMAT Section 2, ‘Understanding People’: You must be an avid reader. Read without discriminating. Read a lot of novels, magazines, books relating to social sciences, etc. It is also mandatory to build up a strong vocabulary. Sound vocabulary will help you to understand various expressions pertaining to human emotions.

UMAT Section 3, ‘Non-Verbal Reasoning’: To excel in this section the only expertise needed is a knack of solving problem figures. The more you practice, the more adept you will become in cracking this section. Practice can bring perfection and in turn proper qualifying marks.

It is evident that there is no prescribed syllabus for UMAT test. So instead of darting in darkness you should take the help of UMAT samples. Don’t be intimidated by failure and hard work. Don’t let the perception of others guide your course. Be judicious, systematic and analytical in your approach. Don’t panic in the examination hall. Keep a track of the time and optimise it in your favour.
